Moore and Fioravanti Win Surf City El Salvador Pro

Carissa Moore and Leonardo Fioravanti delivered the kind of Finals Day performances that change the energy of a season.

At the Surf City El Salvador Pro Presented by Corona Cero, Punta Roca served up the stage, and two of the Championship Tour’s most compelling storylines came through loud and clear: Moore is fully back in the World Title conversation, and Fioravanti finally has the CT victory he has been chasing for years.

Moore, a five-time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, claimed her 30th career Championship Tour win with a powerful victory over two-time World Champion Tyler Wright. The result gives Moore back-to-back CT wins in 2026 and marks her first CT victory in Central America.

The women’s Final was a battle between two of the most experienced and decorated surfers on tour. Moore opened strong, stayed active, and used her forehand power to control much of the heat. Wright made a late charge and briefly took the lead in the final minutes, but Moore answered with a 6.67 to reclaim the top spot and hold it through the horn.

The win moves Moore to World No. 2 heading into the next stop in Brazil.

On the men’s side, Leonardo Fioravanti broke through in a major way, taking down 2019 World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Italo Ferreira in the Final to earn his first-ever CT victory. It was also the first CT win for Italy.

Fioravanti had been one of the most consistent surfers throughout the event, putting up some of the best numbers of the contest, including a 9.00 in the Quarterfinals. In the Final, he struck early with an 8.33 and kept pressure on Ferreira from start to finish. Ferreira fought back with a 7.50, but Fioravanti answered again and held control to the end.

The win moves Fioravanti to World No. 3 and gives him serious momentum heading into the VIVO Rio Pro.

Runner-up finishes also made statements.

For Tyler Wright, the El Salvador result marked her first CT Final since her Pipeline win in 2025, proving she remains a serious threat in the women’s title race. For Italo Ferreira, the result showed grit and resilience after dealing with a knee injury before the event. Even without the win, Ferreira keeps hold of the yellow leader jersey as the tour heads to Brazil.

Other standout performances included Gabriela Bryan, Molly Picklum, Kanoa Igarashi, Gabriel Medina, and several high-pressure heats that kept Punta Roca firing through Finals Day.

The Championship Tour now moves to Brazil for the VIVO Rio Pro Presented by Corona Cero, running June 19–27 in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro. With Moore climbing, Fioravanti surging, and Ferreira heading home in yellow, the World Title race is only getting hotter.
