Pacific Airshow Over Huntington Beach

Pacific Airshow 2026: America at 250, Surf City in the Spotlight

America’s 250th anniversary year is getting a Southern California setting this weekend: open sky, Pacific coastline and a beach full of people looking up.

Pacific Airshow returns to Huntington Beach October 2-4, 2026, celebrating 10 years with an announced lineup that includes NASA’s Freedom 250 jets.

For Revolt, that’s a reason to look at the anniversary through the people and ideas behind flight: skill, experimentation and the willingness to push a little farther. Huntington Beach supplies the local perspective, with surf culture still part of the picture even when the main action is overhead.

America at 250, With an Eye on What’s Next

July 4, 2026, marked 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. The America250 initiative connects that milestone with reflection on the country’s past and its future. Aviation offers one way to make that conversation tangible.

Pacific Airshow’s Freedom 250 performer announcement describes five F-5 jets in commemorative colors. A separate September 29 NASA program announcement says specially painted F-15 and F/A-18 aircraft from Armstrong Flight Research Center will also fly in recognition of the anniversary.

The program brings that exploration down to ground level, too. The organizer lists an Apollo 15 Moon rock, a model of the SkyFall Mars helicopter and exhibits about NASA’s Quesst and Artemis programs.

That gives the weekend a connection between what has already been achieved and what people are still working to understand. Watch the flying, then leave time to explore the science behind it.

Who’s on the Pacific Airshow 2026 Lineup?

The organizer’s current performer page lists the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Canadian Forces Snowbirds, F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team and U.S. Navy F-35C Demo among the announced acts.

The lineup also includes Red Bull skydivers, helicopter pilot Aaron Fitzgerald and Issa Kalfon’s Red Bull Air Force jet suit appearance. That mix gives spectators a reason to watch the full program instead of showing up for a single headliner.

Participation and the daily lineup can change. Check the current performer list rather than relying on an older promotional poster.

When and Where to Watch

The event runs Friday through Sunday, October 2-4. Entry gates open at 9 a.m. daily, with public beach entrances south of Huntington Beach Pier between 1st Street and Huntington Street. Pier ticket holders use a separate entrance.

Exact flying times should be checked on the day. The organizer’s pages give different approximate start and finish times, and the official event map labels its timing as a planning guide. Pacific Airshow says its daily performer schedule is emailed to newsletter subscribers each event morning.

Before leaving, review the event-day information and save your tickets to your phone or print them. A little preparation beats searching your inbox in the entry line.

Surfers: Check the Water Restrictions

The airshow affects ocean access in its operating area. According to the official FAQ, a buoy-marked aerobatic box is patrolled by the Coast Guard and lifeguards during operations, approximately 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The organizer says swimmers, surfers and bodyboarders should expect waist-deep-only water access during those hours. Treat this as a restriction affecting the event area, not a statement that every Huntington Beach break is closed. Check posted notices and ask lifeguards about the permitted access at your intended entry point.

Plan Your Trip Before You Chase a Parking Spot

Parking is first come, first served, and organizers warn that the weekend will be busy. Their transportation guide recommends walking, biking, rideshare or public transportation when practical.

If you drive, leave time for the journey from your parking space to the correct gate. Check parking signs and the event map before committing to a spot. A beach bag you can carry comfortably makes that last stretch easier.

Pack for a Day on the Sand

The organizer’s entry guidance recommends sun protection and hearing protection. Keep the load manageable:

  • Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for time outside.
  • Earplugs or earmuffs, especially for children and anyone sensitive to loud noise.
  • A small personal water bottle, with no glass.
  • A towel or picnic blanket for the beach.
  • Your ticket and payment card. The event is cashless.

Camping chairs and small umbrellas are allowed in General Admission and Show Center Zone areas. Other ticket areas have different rules, so check your ticket’s conditions before packing. Leave drones at home.

For eyewear and other outdoor essentials, browse Revolt’s 2026 Summer Gear Guide. Start with what you already own and bring only what earns its place in the bag.
