JESSE JAMES PARIAH DROPS NEW SINGLE: HORNS UNDER HALO

Jesse James Pariah Releases New Single “Horns Under Halo,” Produced by DENM, and Signs with Jakob Nowell’s Independent Label SVN/BVRNT

Jesse James Pariah, the surfer singer-songwriter and Slum Beach Posse member, has officially joined the roster of SVN/BVRNT Records/Regime Music Group, the new independent label founded by Jakob Nowell (Sublime, Jakobs Castle) and guitarist Zane Vandevort. With his signing, Jesse has released his brand-new single “Horns Under Halo” produced by DENM across all digital platforms.

The battle between good and evil takes center stage in “Horns Under Halo,” where Jesse James Pariah unpacks the skeletons that have been haunting his closet. DENM’s genre-defying alt-rock production and a contagious guitar riff by Strange Case’s Zane Vandevort provide the perfect backdrop as Pariah confronts his past indiscretions and charts a new path toward redemption.

“The inspiration for Horns Under Halo basically comes from my life story,” remembers Jesse James Pariah. “Like many people, I was misunderstood for most of my life, and others often failed to see my true, pure intentions. I suppose I just came across as a skateboarding, surfing, drug-addicted punk—which I probably was most of the time—but I swear I wasn’t trying to be. Life is a trip, and if you’re lucky enough, it will come full circle, like it did for me.”

He continues, “I went down a dark path and turned to drugs. I was an intravenous drug user, addicted to opioids and pretty much anything I could get my hands on. It got so bad that I was stealing from my own friends and family. It wasn’t until I went to jail and then rehab that my life changed for the better.”

“During that time, a good friend of mine came by and gave me his ukulele. That instrument saved my life.” remembers Pariah. “From that point on, I never looked back. My goal is to share that experience of strength and hope with others through my music. If it can help even one person, then I have succeeded in my mission.”

A familiar name in Hawaii’s surf culture, Jesse James Pariah has built a reputation that bridges the surf and music communities. Born and raised on the island of Kauai, Jesse’s musical palette includes a little bit of everything from Eminem to the timeless classics like The Doors, along with a healthy dose of the SoCal punk scene. It was during these formative years, Jesse discovered the ukulele and was able to use it as a form of musical therapy.

This passion for music eventually led him to connect with DENM, who became both a mentor and collaborator. It was through that collaboration that Jesse found other like-minded Huntington Beach artists such as Landon McNamara and Benny Ranks. A spontaneous jam session would eventually lead to the creation of the Slum Beach Posse, a collective of musical misfits that bonded over their shared love for surfing and reggae.

DENM would eventually assemble the collective together to jam and record at McNamara’s house for a week. The end result of those recording sessions would become DENM’s now classic “Slum Peach Posse Vol. 1” album, which thrust Slum Beach Posse into the national spotlight with over 30 million collective streams online.

Excitement for Jesse James Pariah’s debut album is reaching peak levels with ThePier.org proclaiming it’s one of “The Most Anticipated Reggae Rock Albums of 2025.” Slated for spring 2025 release through SVN/BVRNT and Regime Music Group, the record promises an eclectic mix of genres from island infused reggae to alt-rock, reflecting the highs and lows of Jesse’s personal and artistic journey.
