When Slash isn’t melting faces with Guns N’ Roses or throwing down onstage with Myles Kennedy, he’s chasing the roots of it all — the blues. His latest solo record, Orgy of the Damned, is exactly what the title suggests: raw, dirty, soulful, and just the right kind of wrong.
It’s a full-on blues revival, featuring a stacked guest list: Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Chris Stapleton, Iggy Pop, Gary Clark Jr., Billy F. Gibbons, Dorothy, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Tash Neal, and Beth Hart.
“It all came together organically,” Slash said. “I picked the right songs for the right people — and they brought their heart and soul to it.”
Orgy of the Damned dominated Billboard’s Blues Chart for 13 straight weeks at #1, reminding the world that the blues never went away — it just got a Gibson makeover.
