RED BULL RAMPAGE 2025: ZABLOTNY AND GOOMES WIN BIG
The Utah desert once again became the proving ground for the most fearless mountain bikers on Earth as Red Bull Rampage 2025 delivered two days of jaw-dropping freeride action. In a historic year featuring back-to-back competitions for both women and men, two riders emerged from the dust as undeniable champions: Robin Goomes of New Zealand and Hayden Zablotny of Canada.
Women’s Competition – Goomes Goes Back-to-Back
On Friday, October 17, the cliffs of Virgin, Utah set the stage for the second-ever women’s Red Bull Rampage, where seven of the world’s best freeriders carved creative new lines across the legendary sandstone ridges.
Defending champion Robin Goomes delivered a flawless, progressive run packed with amplitude and flow, landing two massive backflips, two Suicide No-Handers, and a Crankflip — all on one of the most exposed lines on the mountain. Her technical mastery and composure earned her 89.50 points and a place in freeride history as only the second-ever back-to-back Red Bull Rampage champion (joining men’s legend Brandon Semenuk).
“The main goal is to ride your run well. Obviously, I wanted to win, but all you can do is ride your best, and if you can do that, you have a good chance.” – Goomes
Hannah Bergemann (USA) took the runner-up spot with an inspired debut after recovering from injury, adapting to a new line at the last minute and sticking a huge double-jump backflip to score 89.33 points. Bergemann also received the McGazza Spirit Award, voted on by her fellow athletes for embodying the stoke and courage of the late freeride icon Kelly McGarry.

Men’s Competition – Zablotny Rises from the Dust
Two days later, on Sunday, October 19, it was the men’s turn to drop into the raw Utah cliffs for the 19th edition of Red Bull Rampage. The invite-only field of the world’s most elite freeriders battled vertical chutes, massive step-downs, and heart-stopping exposure — and it was 22-year-old Hayden Zablotny who stole the show.
“I just wanted to build something that would showcase my building and riding style—and something I’d be stoked on riding as well.” – Zablotny
After crashing during his first run, the young Canadian came back swinging in Run Two, piecing together an electrifying, trick-heavy line filled with precision, control, and creativity. His fearless riding scored 96.00 points, earning him the 2025 Red Bull Rampage title in his first-ever appearance at the event.
Belgium’s Thomas Genon and fellow Canadian Tom Van Steenbergen rounded out the podium with near-perfect runs that pushed the boundaries of big-mountain riding.

A New Era of Freeride
The 2025 edition marked a major milestone for Red Bull Rampage — the first time the event expanded into two full days of competition, celebrating both women’s and men’s freeride progression at the highest level. From Goomes’ back-to-back heroics to Zablotny’s breakout debut, this year’s Rampage proved that the next generation of riders is here, fearless and ready to send it.
Both competitions were broadcast live on Red Bull TV and the Red Bull Bike YouTube channel, cementing the event’s global reach and solidifying its reputation as the ultimate expression of creativity, courage, and control in mountain biking.
