Revolt In Style… or not at all!
The Grammys are around the corner, and while the industry machine is busy pushing playlists and pop formulas, a few artists are still out there making records that actually move the needle — albums dripping with sweat, riffs, and soul.
This year, three of our favorites — Slash, The Hives, and Dropkick Murphys — are carrying the torch for real music. Let’s talk about why they deserve your vote… or at least your volume knob.
When Slash isn’t melting faces with Guns N’ Roses or throwing down onstage with Myles Kennedy, he’s chasing the roots of it all — the blues. His latest solo record, Orgy of the Damned, is exactly what the title suggests: raw, dirty, soulful, and just the right kind of wrong.
It’s a full-on blues revival, featuring a stacked guest list: Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Chris Stapleton, Iggy Pop, Gary Clark Jr., Billy F. Gibbons, Dorothy, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Tash Neal, and Beth Hart.
“It all came together organically,” Slash said. “I picked the right songs for the right people — and they brought their heart and soul to it.”
Orgy of the Damned dominated Billboard’s Blues Chart for 13 straight weeks at #1, reminding the world that the blues never went away — it just got a Gibson makeover.

Gibson Records:
If Slash is the bluesman, The Hives are the chaos. Sweden’s sharpest-dressed band is back with Forever Forever The Hives — an album that feels like pure adrenaline in a tuxedo. It’s loud, lean, and ridiculous in the best possible way.
Frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist once again proves he might be the best live frontman alive.
The record slams from start to finish, reminding everyone why rock was never meant to sit quietly in the corner.

Boston’s own Dropkick Murphys are back with For The People — a rallying cry for the
working class and the loud-hearted. It’s equal parts Celtic, punk, and pure American grit — the sound of a band that never forgot where they came from.
The artwork by Shepard Fairey captures the spirit of resistance in one bold, defiant image —
perfectly matching the band’s fight-for-the-underdog DNA. It’s not just a cover. It’s a statement.
