Dark Heavens Return to Roots on New Single ‘Powerfade’
Dark Heavens from California is set to release their new single, “Powerfade,” on March 10 across all major streaming platforms. Blending action sports punk intensity with high energy metal influences, the track reflects the band’s roots and evolving sound.
Frontman and guitarist Donovan Dresti describes “Powerfade” as a return to their roots. “We wanted to change it up and tap back into where we came from, going to punk shows, skateboarding, and embracing that independent, anti authoritarian mindset,” he explains. That spirit drives the single’s dynamic pace and unapologetic edge, capturing the raw energy that defines both the band and the culture that shaped them.
The release also marks a significant step forward for Dark Heavens, who have partnered with Community Music, a division of Unified Music Group, for the single’s rollout.
“Powerfade” was produced by Kenny Carkeet of AWOLNATION, whom Dresti first connected with during his time working at Red Bull. The result is a focused, hard hitting single that signals a bold new chapter for the band.
“Kenny brought incredible energy, insight, and creativity to the studio,” says Dresti. “His background and perspective elevated the track in a powerful way.”
